Julian Rodarte opened his first restaurant at 23 years old with his dad and was the youngest of "Zagat’s 30 under 30 Most Innovated Chefs in the U.S. in 2017". Julian’s most recent awards were being voted "Best Chef in Dallas" by the Dallas Voice in their Readers Choice Awards and his restaurant Beto & Son was also awarded, "Best Dining Experience in Dallas' in the readers Choice Awards by the Dallas Voice.

 

Julian grew up glued to his dad’s hip in his restaurant kitchen's where he fell in love with cooking. He graduated with Honors from the Culinary Institute of America in 2015. Followed by working for acclaimed chef Dean Fearing, at his restaurant Fearing’s, Julian also worked in the banquet kitchen at the Ritz-Carlton. Julian decided to move into the corporate culinary world becoming an R&D Chef for Denny’s, where he developed new food for Denny’s domestic menu. Julian later got his hands dirty in food science as a Culinologist with CTI Foods, developing soups, sauces and dressings for brands like Panera Bread, Subway and PF Chang’s. In November 2016 Julian and his father Beto opened Beto & Son at Trinity Groves a restaurant incubator concept with restauranteur Phil Romano of Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Fudruckers, Rudy’s BBQ and many more national concepts.

 

Beto & Son was awarded one of the Zagat’s “Top 15 Hottest New Restaurants” in the United States in 2017. Julian was also a finalist candidate for Forbes "Food and Wine 30 under 30". Travel Channel featured Beto & Son on the Booze Traveler as one of the Best Mexican Bars in America highlighting Julian’s famous Liquid Nitrogen Margarita, which has most recently been covered by Buzz Feed. Julian was chosen to represent the United States in the first ever World Tapas Competition in Valladolid Spain in 2017. Julian has since starred in 30 Tastemade episodes, done consulting recipe development for 7UP and On The Border, won on ChoppedU cooking competition on Snapchat and competed on Beat Bobby Flay with his dad, Beto. Julian was also listed as one of the 10 hottest chefs under 30 in America by “Guest of a Guest.” He currently is featured in a National TV commercial with Patrick Mahomes for Essentia Water as a brand ambassador. Currently Julian is working with one of the biggest restaurant groups in the country to open more restaurant concepts in 2020.
